Single Lumen Cuffed Lifecath Catheter

Lifecath is a silicone central venous catheter with a subcutaneous cuff for long-term venous access. The catheter has an extra reinforced and non-removable clamping area. Lifecath can be inserted by surgery (catheter only) or percutaneous puncture (kit with peelable introducer).

Fixation (suture) wings are used to secure the catheter against movement for the first 2-3 weeks after catheter placement. Thus, faster colonization of the Dacron cuff by the subcutaneous tissues is ensured.

Sets 2191.27, 2191.42, 2191.50, 2191.66 and 2193.96 contain the following components:

• 1 silicone catheter with Dacron cuff (maximum pressure 3.5 bar)
• 1 tunnel boring apparatus (2 pieces in code 2193.96: plastic and metallic)
• 1 fixing wing (not included in set code 2191.27)
• 1 scalpel (only available in set 2193.96)

MST Set (Peelable Introducer Kit)

Sets 2191.273, 2191.425, 2191.506, 2191.667 and 2193.960 contain the following components:

• 1 silicone catheter with Dacron cuff (maximum pressure: 3.5 bar)
• 1 tunnel boring apparatus (2 pieces in code 2193.960: plastic and metallic)
• 1 fixing wing (not included in set 2191.273)
• 1 scalpel (only available in set 2193.960)

Usable Length

• 90 cm catheter: The remaining length inside the body after the Dacron cuff is 55 cm
• 75 cm catheter: The remaining length inside the body after the Dacron cuff is 50 cm
