Multicath5 UP is an XRO polyurethane central venous catheter introduced with the Seldinger technique.

It consists of 5 completely separated lumens over the total length of the catheter. Each lumen leads to a separate hole at the distal end of the catheter. At the proximal end, the lumens of the catheter are connected to extension tubes of different lengths. Each extension tube contains a differently colored hub and is marked “Distal,” “Medial 1,” “Medial 2,” “Medial 3,” and “Proximal” to easily identify the different infusion lines.

Multicath5 UP is available in 4 lengths: 12.5cm (code 159.072), 16cm (code 159.172), 20cm (code 159.272) or 30cm (code 159.372).

It is presented in a hard blister pack containing:

• 1 polyurethane catheter (completely radiopaque), with fixing wings and centimeter graduation from 9 cm from the distal end. Smooth distal tip
• 1 safety needle (Seldisafe) 18G, 68mm, to prevent needlestick injuries
• 1 safety scalpel
• 1 BLS valve (Bloodless System) on Seldisafe to limit blood loss and air embolism
• 1 adapter for pressure transducer
• 1 Teflon-coated “J” Nitinol guidewire (particularly bend-resistant) with guide advancer
• 1 dilator 10Fr/Length: 100mm
• 5 caps
• 1 5ml syringe
• 1 additional fixing wing for 16, 20 and 30cm catheters
• 1 ECG cable (Combcard) for 16, 20 and 30cm catheters
