The exchange-transfusion set is indicated for alloimmune hemolytic disease of the newborn, hyperbilirubinemia, severe anemia, and polycythemia. This technique consists of replacing most of the patient's blood with donor blood. This replacement; It is done through divided and sequential volume-to-volume exchanges to remove abnormal blood components and circulating toxins while maintaining adequate circulating blood volume.
