AQUACEL™ Ag+ Dressings

AQUACEL™ Ag+ dressings combine two synergistically advanced technologies designed to manage the three key local barriers to the wound healing process—exudate, infection, and biofilm.

Ag+ Technology

Ag+ Technology is an antibiofilm formulation containing a unique ionic silver. This structure helps break down the layer that protects bacteria by acting on the biofilm and offers a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect.

• Breaks the biofilm layer and exposes bacteria
• Targets a wide range of microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria
• Helps reduce biofilm formation

Hydrofiber™ Technology

Hydrofiber™ Technology creates the ideal wound environment for Ag+ Technology to work effectively. It helps keep the wound bed under control by trapping exudate and bacteria in its gel structure.

• Traps excess exudate, bacteria and biofilm inside
• Helps reduce the risk of maceration
• Provides ideal moisture balance in the wound bed
• Regulates the microenvironment by reducing dead spaces
• Provides comfort during dressing changes with its gel structure

Clinical Uses

AQUACEL™ Ag+ EXTRA wound dressings have been developed for use on infected wounds or wounds at high risk of infection.

• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Leg ulcers of venous, arterial and mixed etiology
• Pressure sores (partial and full thickness)
• Surgical and traumatic wounds
• Debrided bleeding wounds
• Exuding oncological wounds
• Chronic non-healing infected wounds

Additionally, AQUACEL™ Ag+ Strip dressing can be used on sinus, tunneled and deep cavity wounds.
